Where are the cabinets made?
Our cabinetry is crafted by hand by local woodworkers in our plant in Hodgenville, Ky.
Can I order my cabinets direct from Walters Cabinets?
Absolutely. We would love to design and build cabinetry just for you. Buying cabinets direct makes sense by eliminating a middle man’s mark-up.
Do you have a Certified Kitchen Designer on staff?
Actually we have two. Tod Walters C.K.D. and Robbie Walters C.K.D. along with our other designers have an average of over 26 years each in the cabinetry field.
What types of woods do you use to make cabinets?
Maple (our most popular), Cherry (timeless), Oak (the best value), Walnut (cheaper than you might think), Mahogany (a little pricey but worth it), Knotty Pine (for those rustic lovers), Poplar (for paints and glazes), Quarter Sawn Oak (a little different twist to oak).
I want a new kitchen, do you do complete remodeling?
No, but we will help you with design work and cabinetry and counters. You will have to get a contractor to: rework walls and soffitts, paint, floor covering, plumbing, and electrical. (Unless, of course, you are an adamant do-it-yourselfer)
How long does it take to get cabinets after an order has been placed?
Although lead times can vary it is usually around 6 weeks.
Is custom cabinetry more expensive than stock cabinetry?
Not usually. Except for the cheapest off the shelf cabinetry, buying custom cabinetry direct from us is very competitive with buying stock cabinetry from a dealer or distributor.
I am looking for a special color of cabinetry that I cannot seem to find. Can you help me?
Yes. We have the capabilities to create individual colors of stains and paints to meet your needs.
